It is with deep sorrow and shock that we announce the passing of our bishop, Martin D. McLee. Rev. Adrienne Brewington, dean of the New York Annual Conference cabinet, announced the news this afternoon on the conference website . Bishop McLee was a vocal ally in the cause for LGBTQ equality in the United Methodist Church. His death is a loss for our movement, for our conference, and for our church. Our prayers are with his family in this time of loss.
